Haircut

Our first home buzz cut...impromtu before I went to work tonight!

Basketball!

YMCA has MICRO basketball for 3-4 year olds. I really debated having Isaac do this, but with Chad's encouragement....decided to go for it. Plus it was only 25 dollars for 7 weeks, b/c we are Y members.
Isaac really improved in his ball skills (he can actually make a basket!), knows how to line up and practice shooting, can bounce pass and listen to Coach Brandon...
Areas for improvement: laying on floor and not participating, not wanting to play, then running out and defending when he gave up his "armband" and chose not to play, wanting to leave, being "tired".
Isaac was middle of the road when it came to attention span, he really liked practice and sitting in circle for pep talks, but actually running up and down court was hard to handle for him...but at least he wasn't playing on iphones (my pet peeve for other kids! I mean, come on, let's be active kids!!!!!)
Overall it was a great experience, frustrating at  times, but not if I remembered that this is just "fun" and to have no expectations. He is still very young to follow direction and have a good attention span, but the process was so great...having a team, getting better, cheering each other on, meeting other parents and having our family come watch him. Chad was so great, every week, being Isaac's director. Isaac is very lucky to have a patient daddy.

Pep talk...Isaac #5 on the right

Isaac carrying the orange ball...

He is running on the left...away from team (kinda a usual thing)

Picture of parental involvement...every kid pretty much had an adult to guide.

After the last game today, we had a little award ceremony.

And a trophy!

and a medal!

Isaac says his next sport is baseball...I say open swim time and park time. Until maybe when he is five. We'll see:)

UPDATE: I already see they have MICRO soccer for April...changed my mind....let's do it!
