and here comes Mr Barr
Chad applied a lot....interviewed a few times...and landed a 1 year position at Lebanon School District Middle School teaching Math and Science to 7/8 graders. How lucky we are to have a full time position. Scary and lucky! Scary in that we have to finalize day care, whether it be nanny and ark angels preschool, or YMCA like last year. So many unknowns of times, like when school starts, curriculum, like uh...what do I teach? ... but we will find out so much in the weeks ahead. Chad starts on Tuesday. Pray for us as we begin this new journey. A lot of lesson plans and work as a new teacher, so Chad and I will have our hands full, as we juggle full time teaching, full time nursing, full time parenting:)
We are enjoying our last moments of summer...and historic anchor inn, a summer tradition for the Barr's.

Isaacness
I like that Isaac adds -ness to a lot of words.
At trader joes he saw an 10 year old and said...look at that big boy. Then he said... I like his big-ed-ness
Another thing he has said for a long time is when he has his clothes off and running around, he will say... did u see my naked-ness?
He says it for a lot of other things and I love that he makes up words to describe what he sees.

Natalie hair
So chad and are in a debate over Natalie's hair. I know it needs a good 3 inches cut off and would be still nice and long and gorgeous but chad... Love that man.... Cannot seem to let it go. He thinks it's gorgeous just the way it is (really scraggly in my opinion) He really truly thinks its beautiful... And I do too, but we have been getting comments on when we are going to cut it. He cannot come to grips with cutting her hair.
Oh poor rapunzel-Natalie... Someday you will have cool hair:) but for the first two years I blame your dad.

grammie and poppa's visit.
medium from anne barr on Vimeo.
This is a video I put together of the kids with grammie and poppa while chad and I celebrated our 10 years of marriage in kauai....
This is my updated version...I added one more video and I made it so you can hear what they are saying and made the music softer...yay for me figuring out iMovie and Vimeo...two of the things I wanted to accomplish this trip. I have found I have lots of time to figure out stuff without 2 munchkins around. But oh how we miss them. We watched this clips ALL the time....

jotting down what we have been up to...
continuing on so i don't forget all we have done.....
day 5: Waimea Canyon and dinner with Kalena and friends at Duke's
day 6: Plan was for hideaways and ke'e beach but got out the door too late and no parking:( ended up at tunnels and saw another monk seal in the water. Got some late night pu pu's at Oasis at our condo.
Day 7: Golfing at Wailua Municipal Course. It rained before we got there and was incredibly humid. Pool time and I went down backwards...the a mai tai...yummy!
Day 8: Attempt at hideaways. Got there at 0915 and snagged the last parking spot. We braved a steep climb down to a beautiful beach "hideaway". It was a little too rough of snorkling for us. We stayed for about an hour. We knew we would be too late to get a prime spot and ke'e, which is at the tip end of the road north....so we just stopped at tunnels and snagged a primo spot close and knew it was where we were supposed to be that day...AND we found the coral on the left was much more colorful than where we had been snorkling...saw another beached seal...and left around 330 pm. We came back home cleaned up and went to oasis again, now for happy hour. thai martini for me and pu pu's (our favorite the potato fingerlings with a hollandaise sauce...YUM! We walked to safeway to get some vino for muwah and redbox movie.
Plan for remainder days....
Day 9: Gonna make it ke'e beach...it's known for turtles:)
Day 10: Waimea Canyon
Day 11: go home:)

Queens bath
So we have been in Kauai for 4 days.
Day 1: Travel day and exploration
Day 2: Poipu Beach Park and Puku Dog, pool and slide, Al Pastore Taco (num num)
Day 3: Sheraton Beach and Puku Dog and exploring a bit north and pool.
Day 4: Queens Bath, Tunnels, pool with book for 1.5 hrs, BBQ at home and bachelorette. Team Jef!
The last bath but not queens too rough...
This one is queens...
The first bath, a bit rough too
It was a slippery walk down a mud and leaf trail where at the bottom was the waterfall at the previous blog entry. Then to the lava rocks we went 300 yards too the left. We went past queens bath because we weren't sure if it was it. It was a good view to go the end. good workout. We didn't go in the bath...Not as big of risk takers when you have two beautiful children waiting back home. After this we went to Tunnels beach, one of my top beaches of all time (for now...)But we had a super interesting trip...We got a primo parking spot, saw an eel (first time ever), saw a couple doing extreme yoga (pics to come), saw two guys with whale fins instead of flippers?, saw a monk seal, and saw a famous couple (I don't know who they are but they looked famous...more on that later) and last but not least a super intense couple where the guy was mad at girl for getting sand on the towel. COME on, we are at the beach! It was painful to listen to, but we did anyway.
I will get pics up of Tunnels tonight. Today we have Waimea Canyon, pool time and dinner with Kalena (friend of friend) at DUKES. YAY!

summer...it's almost over:(
Trying to look at the glass half full....but I only can be sad that the summer has flown by and we don't have much more left.
So far we have enjoyed Chad being home and having quality time together. That means me working...it feels like all the time, while he daddying around town with the kids, on walks and picnicking at the park. I'm missing out!
But we got to squeeze in 5 days in Sunriver with the cable's, pembertons, and connelly's. The party house is turning into a daycare...4 year old, 2 year old, 7 month old and one on the way! What a blessing we have in our friends and us all having kids together.
What else...Chad spends most of his free time applying for teaching positions from Gresham to Lebanon. He passed ESOL endorsement. Go CHAD!
Kids are great and crazy, meaning Isaac questions EVERYTHING and natalie whines at EVERYTHING. In between, lots of hugs and cuteness.
Work is great, night shift sucks (except my co workers don't!) I am going to day shift once they train a relief charge nurse, so sometime in August.
We are going to celebrate our 10 year anniversary by spending 10 days in KAUAI! sans kids! Super nervous about being away so long...but you know us, we will have detailed instructions for my parents. God Bless Them for loving my detailed instructions.
Later in August having MASSIVE co-ed baby shower, at our house. I mean a tent and all. Mai-tai's too.
We had to cut out camping this summer:( It's a little hard to juggle the schedule this year and Natalie being 2 is a tough one...we were going to go for it, because she actually somewhat listens. The sched just is not figured out for work. we didn't camp the year Isaac was 2 either. Toddler tip...Going camping when kiddos are 0,1 and 3 and on is a success. 2 is a bit harder. They can run but don't understand water, car, fire safety etc.
Anyways, my bro and his wife opened up Pacific Northfresh store in downtown. Please go check it out, all things portland and pacific nw. It's a gem. Haven't seen it yet, but so they say:)
Otherwise, staying healthy, walking, lifting weights, running, juicing, salading and that's about it for our summer.
And I plan on potty training Natalie mid August. Isaac is up in the air on where he will attend preschool. I have him going to Ark Angels MWF am class. But also still have him and Natalie on wait list for YMCA (just in case). But first choice would be nanny 2 days/week if Chad gets job. So waiting for God to show us His ultimate plan.
Prayer Requests!
1. Chad gets an awesome job!
2. Kids are kept safe and have fun while we are gone.
3. I go to day shift sometime in August! To save my sanity!!!!!!
